When can I prune my elm tree?

In Edmonton, AB you can prune an elm tree between October 1 and March 31. If pruning is required at other times in the year, you can obtain an Elm Tree permission form from Edmonton Forestry and Environmental Services.

Please be aware that any person or tree service which removes an elm tree from their property must also remove the stump to a minimum of 10 centimetres below the soil line.

 

Do you employ ISA Certified Arborists?

Yes! Every job is assessed by an ISA Certified Arborist who is knowledgeable and experienced in proper tree care.

 

Are you insured for tree work in the Edmonton area?

Our tree service company carries a 3 million commercial liability insurance policy with Co-operators Insurance and all of our employees are covered by W.C.B. We will provide proof of insurance and W.C.B. coverage if requested.

 

What are your hours of operation?

Our office is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am until 4:30pm. For all after hours emergencies we can be reached at (780) 448-0584.

Do I need to be on site for an estimate?

We can provide you with an estimate left in your mailbox or by email. You will not be required to be there when the estimate is provided. We will need a clear description of what you are wanting done, along with the species and location of the plant material within your property.

Although if you are in need of a tree removal estimate, it is helpful if you are able to clearly mark which trees you desire to be removed.

Do you adhere to any standards of practice?

Alberta Arborists tree service adheres to the ANSI A300 tree care standards and the ANSi Z133.1 safety standards. For more information in regards to these standards, please do not hesitate to ask us.

What methods of payments do you accept?

Alberta Arborists accept Visa, Mastercard, personal cheque or cash.

When is payment due?

We do not request payment up front. Payment is only due upon the completion of the job.

What happens to the mulch after my stump is removed?

If Alberta Arborists provides stump grinding services for you, you can expect that the mulch will be raked back into a pile and left onsite (where the stump was). You can take advantage of using this mulch for garden beds, tree wells, composts or you can bag it up and put it out for yard waste collection. We do not haul away the mulch created from stump grinding operations.

Can I keep my wood for firewood?

Yes, firewood is left piled in the general area of where the tree was removed. Moving firewood around the site may result in an extra charge.
